Day #6 – Lennox Head – Skennars Head – Ballina (15km)
Comparatively easy last day of walking! Saw whales breaching off the coast and countless beautiful beaches that we are proud to remember are all part of our “backyard”!
It was fun to be tourists for a week.
Day #5 – Part 2 – Suffolk Park to Lennox Head
Suffolk Park to Broken Head and no stopping until Lennox Head.
The fear is that if you stop, you won’t want to get moving again… Also, we still somehow have things left to talk about(!?)
More beautiful beaches, appreciated shade along the mountain of Broken Head and fabulous hospitality by Kylie and her family at the end of the day!
7 Mile Beach lives up to its name. That stretch took us 2 hours, which was unexpected.
21km today… final day is tomorrow.
Day #5 – Part 1 – Byron Bay to Suffolk Park
Some more walking with the main highlight of this section being conversation, cheese, crackers and beers on the beach with John Gormley 😀 Oh and don’t forget watching the whales and dolphins!
Day #4 – Brunswick Heads to Byron Bay
Tyagarah
Hot and windy (30km/h?)
Not as many nudes as we were expecting. Had to take the fire trail for a bit as we were being hammered by sand / wind. 17km today but it was a tough 17km.
Day #3 – Part #3 – New Brighton to Brunswick Heads
Day #3 – Part 2 – Wooyung to New Brighton
Wooyung and New Brighton… Marshall’s Creek was lovely. Stopped for a wee rest and a vodka.
We considered swimming across the river from New Brighton to Brunswick Heads holding our bags above our heads but decided to walk the long way around, instead.
Day #3 – Part 1 – Pottsville to Wooyung
Pottsville Bakehouse: Breakfast of champions
Pottsville Beach
The Dead Rat
“That lightbulb moment”…
Day #2 – finished for the day in Pottsville
End of Day #2 – Pottsville Beach (lots of squeaky white sand), the Six-legged Plover, the Pied Oystereater, Keg Man and Jesse pointing to where we will be walking to tomorrow (Brunswick Heads in the misty distance). 18km today.
Day #2 – Cabarita Cove, Maggie’s Beach and those endangered birds at Hastings Point
